Andy Holgate
A senior engineering, utilities and sustainability leader with more than 30 years’ experience across industrial, FMCG, food and beverage, environmental and regulated manufacturing environments. Andrew combines practical engineering judgement with commercial discipline across energy, utilities, process engineering, statutory compliance, industrial decarbonisation and capital project delivery.
As a Director of IEP, Andrew leads client engagement, feasibility studies, funding applications, planning, permitting and execution of engineering programmes that have delivered reduced energy, water, waste, operating cost and CO₂ emissions while protecting production resilience and business performance.
He was recently embedded with the Global Supply Chain Division of a top 3 global brewing multinational as Sustainability and Utilities Engineering Lead across 14 international brewery sites. He provided senior utilities and sustainability leadership for a flagship investment of c.€100m for a brewery expansion in France, increasing capacity by circa 50% while supporting >85% in CO₂ emissions reduction.
His core competencies include industrial utilities optimisation, waste heat recovery, steam, refrigeration, compressed air, CO₂, water and wastewater systems, fuel switching, renewable energy integration, waste-to-energy, techno-economic feasibility, business case development, grant funding, procurement and project delivery.
He holds a BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering with Water Resource Management from Kingston University and is a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET).
